Client Info

Motus Truck & Van was born out of the merger of two established and successful businesses. In 2018, S & B Commercials, a Mercedes-Benz dealer working under the Motus Group joined forces with Orwell Truck & Van intending to provide high-quality Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles to customers across Hertfordshire, Essex and East Anglia.

Having gone through a brand realignment, Motus Truck & Van commissioned GLO to develop a microsite that would act as their Employee Hub, where the core corporate values would be displayed. The goal behind the microsite was to set a standard, and lead their actions and behaviours, both internally and externally, to drive engagement and business growth. We worked in collaboration with Think to deliver a responsive microsite for Motus.

Their objectives were to:
  • Produce a microsite to reinforce the core corporate values and set a standard for employee behaviours while keeping them engaged
  • Introduce the Leading Stars scheme where employees get to nominate their colleagues for living out the corporate values in their work
  • Fill the website with engaging content, written in the tone of voice established within the Corporate Identity guidelines
Project outcomes:
  • On-brand, fully responsive website with the values clearly displayed and a pleasing UI
  • An intuitive nomination entry form with Call To Action (CTA) buttons strategically positioned throughout the website to drive the desired actions
  • An Employee Hub that reflects the brand and satisfies the Corporate Identity guidelines, both in terms of the design and the copy
It was a pleasure to work with GLO on the website for our rewards and recognition platform. The team is knowledgeable, friendly and professional and we were really happy with the final product, especially considering time constraints.

Ben Hammond, Marketing Executive

John & his team were extremely detailed and professional throughout our time working together. We had very tight deadlines which GLO were able to meet and turned our project around in a matter of weeks.

WE PRODUCED A RESPONSIVE WEBSITE THAT KEEPS EMPLOYEES ENGAGED BY COMBINING UX DESIGN, UX COPYWRITING AND CRO

1 – MEETING THE USER NEEDS WITH RESPONSIVE UX DESIGN

The website’s primary users are the Motus Truck & Van employees and so the design was put together in a way that meets their needs and offers them a smooth user experience (UX) whether they’re viewing it on their desktops or mobiles. While the entire site reflects the brand, it focuses the users’ attention on the main features of the Employee Hub – the Leading Stars scheme and the behaviours that embody the corporate values. By offering an intuitive experience and a clear layout for those focal points, the microsite encourages the employees to embody the values in their everyday work activities, and recognise their colleagues’ efforts by nominating each other.

2 – AMPLIFYING THE ENGAGEMENT WITH UX COPYWRITING

The Motus Leading Stars platform is meant for internal use only and therefore it did not require any SEO copy. Instead, our copywriter had the challenge of producing UX copy for the website that was both engaging and aligned with the Motus Corporate Identity guidelines. By speaking directly to the employee and using action phrases, such as “Nominate a Colleague” for the Call To Action buttons, we were able to achieve a more personable user experience that, while following the Corporate Identity guidelines, is not detached from the rest of the brand.

As an additional way to keep the employees engaged, we have inserted Motus’s Facebook feed on the homepage, allowing the employees to keep up to date with their company’s updates.

3 – DRIVING DESIRED ACTIONS WITH CRO

The main goal of the Motus Employee Hub was to set the standard for the employees’ behaviour to encourage them to embody the corporate values in all that they do at work. In order to drive the desired actions, which for the Employee Hub are the colleague nominations, the designs were reviewed by our Conversion Rate Optimisation specialist who suggested amendments that were aimed at generating more conversions. Through strategic placement and design of CTA buttons, and each of the main features of the website working as its own funnel to drive those desired actions, amongst other CRO-enhanced elements, the Employee Hub delivers exactly what Motus was looking for.
